Private sector with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes

Corporate philanthropy is the act of a corporation or business promoting the welfare of others, generally through charitable donations of funds or time.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities help businesses to improve their reputation and enhance their influence with customers, suppliers and networks. This can directly help Top Employers to attract, retain and engage employees, and to be an employer of choice.

CSR activities are best practices not only for their valuable social impact, but also because of the fulfilment it can bring to employees who take part in rewarding activities outside of their day jobs. It can be eye-opening to have direct contact with the (diverse) community the company serves, and such activities are also likely to have a positive impact on a company’s consumer and employer brand.

All stakeholders of a company are positively impacted by CSR practices. For a Top Employer, being actively involved in CSR can make a significant difference for clients, investors and shareholders, and of course, it supports being an employer of choice.

Adopt an activity and
Become an HR&S Activity Ambassador

Companies are invited to adopt an activity within the HR&S programme that are in line with their own business. This can be developed around annual donations and annual reports.

REACH

We raise funds for computer rooms with quality computers, internet, network, electricity as well as IT and literature review services  requested for by local scientific institutions. 50% of the raised funds will pay for the local costs and 50 % will pay for two years of  REACH management strategy coaching by HR&S empowering sustainable service, maintenance and running of the equipment, a sustainable economy and sustainable quality local supervision.

Amount minimum EUR 60,000.

Empower a network of scientific researchers from Sub-Sahara African countries. Enable i) network conferences and ii) training sessions.

Enable coaching of scientific institutions in order to empower their scientific capacity strengthening strategies.

We raise funds to cover a portion of the coaching costs that will be negotiated and asks the institutions to pay the rest. Usually the institutions should be obliged to pay 100%, but due to a tradition of aid, the institutions have become used to receiving coaching for free. HR&S empowers a shift of paradigm where scientific institutions collaborates as equal partners, as we claim this is the only way to achieve independence with sustainable operations and sustainable economy for stakeholders in SSA, and thereby eradicate extreme poverty.

FAST

We raise funds for scientific equipment requested for by local laboratories. 50% of the raised funds will pay for the equipment and 50 % will pay for two years of HR&S laboratory management coaching enabling service, maintenance and running of the equipment as well as a sustainable economy, in relation to the procured piece of equipment.

Amount minimum EUR 100,000.

Empower our network of laboratory technicians from Sub-Sahara African countries. Enable i) visits to other laboratories, ii) analysis of samples from other countries, iii) technician conferences.

Enable coaching of advanced laboratories in order to empower their laboratory management strategies. This can target private laboratories providing services to the country as well as laboratories at scientific institutions.

We raise funds to cover a portion of the coaching costs and asks the institutions to pay the rest. SCALE

We raise funds to be able to offer loans to social entrepreneurs. 50% of the funds raised is transferred to our partners in Africa and 50% is used for coaching and impact assessment from Sweden.

Empower a network of social entrepreneurs from Sub-Sahara African countries. Enable i) training, ii) international visits and conferences.

Strengthen the HR&S Support centres in Sub-Sahara African countries where social entrepreneurs benefits from support to empower their businesses. Enable i) venue and access to computers and internet for/at the HR&S RISE Centres, ii) training, iii) knowledge sharing events among the members.

22RISE

Empower a network of sustainable development stakeholders from Sub-Sahara African countries. Include also representatives from international institutions.

Empower cross cultural awareness raising (CROSS). We offer seminars, workshops and webinars.

Empower gender equity for development. Empowering women self-esteem through empowering women role-models and make them visible. Funds are raised to pay for the ambitions of women role-models when relevant to gender equality for development.

We also raise funds to pay for ladies to attend university (tuition fee and allowances EUR 5,000 per student and year).  50% of the funds raised is transferred to our partners in Africa and 50% is used for coaching and impact assessment from Sweden.
